92+ Points, Jay Miller/eRobertParker.com #173 Oct 2007. The 2004 Shiraz was sourced from 96-year-old vines in Vine Vale with tiny yields of 0.65 tons per acre. It was left on its lees for 36 months in seasoned French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Opaque purple-colored, it has a brooding bouquet of cedar, pencil lead, blueberry, and licorice. This leads to a muscular, structured, tightly wound wine that appears to have the right stuff but remains compact at the moment. It may need up to a decade to fully express itself and should last through 2035.
