All You Need to Know about Shipping
Winebuys.com ships via reliable
UPS Ground service. If you need it faster or live in Hawaii, UPS 2-Day and Overnight
service are also available. By law, you must be 21 years of age or older to purchase and receive wine, and an adult's signature (also 21 years or older) is required for all deliveries of wine.
Due to UPS fuel surcharge increases we charge $3.50 (small order handling charge) for all orders of $90.00 or less.
How many bottles are in a box?
We ship bottles in 1, 3, 6 and 12 bottle boxes. To save you even more money, we'll always consolidate your order to fit the most number of bottles
per box; for instance, if you were to place an order for nine different bottles of wine, we would pack them in a single box. All wine $8.00 and below per bottle is sold by the case only.
Can I split my order to ship to different addresses?
Presently, our site is configured to accept a single shipping destination per order. If you want to send gifts to multiple destinations, please place
one order per destination.
To which states can I have wine shipped?
You may place an order from any U.S. state. However, due to direct shipping laws and regulations, Winebuys.com can only accept online or telephone orders
for shipments destined to actual street addresses (no P.O. Boxes, no APO/FPO addresses) in the following states:
AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, LA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NV, NY, NC, ND, OH, SC, TX, VA, WA, WV, WY
* 6% sales tax will be collected for all orders shipped within Michigan.
Please note that all products are sold in Michigan, and title passes to the buyer in Michigan. Winebuys.com makes no representation as to the legal
rights of the buyer to ship or import wines into any other state, and the buyer is solely responsible for shipment. By placing an order, you authorize us
to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
When will my order arrive?
We use UPS exclusively for all our shipments. UPS Ground shipments (the least expensive option) usually go out within 1 or 2 business days of receiving
your order - it could take longer if your item is not in stock. You should expect your shipment to arrive within 5 to 10 business days, not including holidays or weekends. Actual shipping time via UPS Ground
service is not guaranteed. (Please see Extreme weather delays.)
Please note that if you select overnight or any expedited shipping we will do our best to ship the same day or next day, but we might not have your wine in stock at the time of order.
Aloha to our friends in Hawaii
For an obvious reason known as the Pacific Ocean, all shipments to Hawaii must be by UPS 2-Day or UPS Overnight. Because of potentially hot weather
conditions in Hawaii, we strongly recommend you choose UPS Overnight service, if available.
Extreme weather delays
We take the quality of our wine very seriously. Occasionally, due to our commitment to your satisfaction and the perishable nature of wine, please be
aware that shipments may be delayed at our discretion during extreme weather conditions (such as heat waves or cold snaps). Should this occur, you will
receive an email from us explaining the reason for the delay.
Can I ship to a residential address?
Yes. However, we strongly encourage you whenever possible to use a commercial business address to ensure the fastest possible delivery time, and to minimize
missed delivery attempts.
What if no one is around to receive the shipment?
Yet another reason why it's best to use a commercial business address! If no one is legally available to receive the package, at least one follow-up
attempt will be made, after which UPS will hold your shipment for pickup at one of its depots.
Should subsequent delivery attempts be unsuccessful and you do not pick up the shipment at the UPS depot within a specified time, your order will be
returned to our shipping department. We will in turn issue you a full refund to your credit card (minus the outbound and return UPS shipping charges).
Please note that UPS will not redirect shipments of wine to another shipping address other than the one you provide at the time of order.
Who is allowed to receive my shipment?
By law, you must be 21 years of age or older to purchase wine, and an adult's signature (also 21 years or older) is required for all deliveries of wine.
Upon delivery of your purchase, UPS will require the person signing for the shipment to provide bona fide picture identification proving the signer's
identity and legal age. By law, UPS is not allowed to delivery wine to any person who is intoxicated, or appears to be intoxicated.
What should I do if the shipment arrives damaged?
A damaged shipment will usually be obvious to you and the driver. Telltale signs would include a severely torn or gouged shipping box, wine stains, moisture
on the bottom of the box, etc. Should you notice any such problem upon delivery, please point it out to the driver, who will be able to return the product
to us or process a claim if necessary. (You may wish to open the box with the driver present; because of the special packaging we use, it's likely that
the actual bottles may be fine even if the box looks damaged.)
If you notice physical damage to the wine bottles after the driver has left, please contact our Customer Service department immediately by email at service@winebuys.com or call 866-976-VINO (8466) . We ensure your ultimate satisfaction. (In all cases, please do not return a product to us without contacting our Customer Service
department first.)
How can I track my shipment?
Once your order has been processed, we will send your shipment's tracking information to you via email. Once you have that number, it's easy to track
your shipment directly from the Winebuys.com website: Simply click "my orders" at the very top of each page, or
just click here.
Gift shipments Sending wine as a gift is subject to the same kind of shipping restrictions as ordering wine for yourself. Gifts of wine may only be sent to to which
we ship wine. (See To which states can I have wine shipped?) An adult signature will be required to receive the shipment, so it might be an especially good
idea to ship to the gift recipient's business address. If that isn't possible, then we suggest you inform the gift recipient that a package requiring an
adult signature will be arriving soon. |
